To prepare for the next pandemic, New Zealand has plenty to learn. But only a handful of developed countries might offer some key lessons, since most nations have been hit hard by Covid-19.

Three good examples are Singapore, South Korea and Taiwan which all successfully “flattened the epidemiological curve” early in their coronavirus pandemic responses. And they managed to do this while keeping their domestic economies mostly open, in contrast to New Zealand.

Our Research Assistant Leonard Hong has profiled these three East Asian countries and produced a summary report. He discusses his research and findings with Nathan Smith in our weekly podcast.
